Is iready for AAP Math different?

My friends kid takes forever on the iReady, his parents told the Teachers that they do not want him working on it for more then 2 class periods. After that, the kid is done. He had one year where he spent 6 days and still hadn't completed the iReady. That was too much, way too much.
