Whoa - relax. My child is not even two, so we have several years as I mentioned in my post before middle school. We are quite confident with the elementary school and have been tracking things, and all I was saying there were some positive developments ahead. We will have plenty of time to assess and decide from there. And I was referring to the red and green zone schools - Einstein is in the red zone and WILL get increased funding and smaller classes. I have read about it. I found your post incredibly condescending. As the time comes for us to decide on middle school, I can assure you we will be looking with our eyes open. In the meantime, we moved here four years before kids, as we work in downtown SS. We wanted a SFH and a good commute. It was never going to be long term, but now that we have met other families, grown into our neighborhood and researched schools, there is a chance we will stay as we like what is happening. Not everyone wants to live in Bethesda and have their kids go to the "good" schools in MoCo. I know from experience those type schools have their own challenges. |

This thread is a great discussion and someone is kind enough to put several references on page 4: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/45/93945.page But my original source is a neighbor who works for MoCo schools and told me about it. |
From what I understand, only elementary schools get additional Title One funding. Not middle or high schools. And that leading for equity HBS book is a total puff piece. |
