It's PG Plaza. Locals know what I'm talking about. Either way, who cares -- Prince Georg's is in the name of the mall. What's wrong with that? |
|
It’s terrible.
Some of my family members were there, and we had helicopters overhead for hours. |
That's scary. |
But the helicopters showed up after the threat was over. |
Probably the news. |
There have been shootings at Montgomery Mall basically every couple years or so and they are always shocking. The fact that people are posting about a shooting at PG Plaza indicates that people believe that it is also shocking. I am not sure that I understand your point. |
| I go there all the time. |
There was a shooting death there in March. Another shooting with three people injured in June. The fact it saddens, not shocks me is not racial bias. It's history. |
It’s PG Plaza for us old school folks. Just like Nissan Pavillion - I will never call it Jiffy Lube Live. Never! |

20-year-old murdered while eating at the mall. RIP Darrion. Being a young black man shouldn't be a death sentence.
. |
The most noteworthy shooting at Montgomery mall was committed by a rogue federal police officer, with his govt-issue pistol. |
| I live in PG, frequent the mall and black. I am unsure why this is a huge deal. This was not random… sad, yes, but so is every other death. |
Sure. But there have been others. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/two-men-sentenced-for-shooting-at-montgomery-mall/2466/ |
I think the fact that it happened in midweek in front of a lot of innocent bystanders is what alarms people. It’s the same when targeted killings like this happen in residential areas in broad daylight when kids are out playing and lots of community members are around. Proximity to innocents. |
I think that is basically it. 10 PM on a Saturday and maybe the reaction would be different. |
