Congrats OP! Tell me, how are people responding? How wonderful for you!
I started WW in February, the week of the snowcapolyse, and am down 18 pounds. I'm aiming to lose 40 so almost halfway there. I think going slow is the way to go. OP, what's your game plan for maintaining, more of the same? Again, bravo! Here's an interesting thread on the food-weight thing. http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/good-questions/how-do-foodlovers-maintain-a-healthy-weight-good-questions-116145 |
Not OP, but I also did WW. I was worried about maintaining, but it was actually very natural. I ended up leveling off with my weight loss at just about 5 lbs above my goal weight. I wasn't sure it was a plateau so I just kept doing what I was doing. After about 6 weeks, I realized this was my weight, and I didn't have a problem with the amount of food I was eating. I realized the "diet" was over and I was now maintaining. I've stayed within 2 lbs of this weight for probably 5 months now, and it hasn't been a problem at all! |
Congratulations!!!
Quick questions on WW - what are the big no, no's when you are on WW? |
OP here. Thanks again everyone. As far as keeping the weight off, I feel like the PP who finished up weight watchers. It's a lifestyle and after the first month, I haven't felt like it was a diet. So, I am going to keep doing what I was doing up to now. With rare exceptions, I don't feel hungry between meals.
As far as big no-nos on WW - the only one is don't go over your points. You get a certain number of points each day plus additional points for exercise and an additional 35 points each week to use whenever and however you want. You also get a list of good health guidelines (how much protein, vegetables and fruit, dairy, etc.) you should eat in a day. Then you decide how to spend your points. Good luck to everyone who is working on losing weight. |
For all the WW users on this post-how is the online versus meeting? I think online would be so much easier and convenient but wonder if I would miss something with the meetings and maybe it would not work well. I need to lose 15 lbs. Thanks. |
Enjoy your new body! |
There is something about being weighed in-person at the WW meetings that is motivating. That being said, the meetings were totally lame to me. I went to a few and then stopped going. You can still go just to weigh in and then leave. You get free online tools when you do the meeting version, if I remember correctly. So you can still track all your points, look up recipes, etc. but you have the added pressure of having to weigh in each week. |
I'm 11:17. I never went to a WW meeting. I did online only, and it worked very well for me. I lost all my baby weight and then some. I did the nursing mothers program. |
14:25 here thanks for the advice. I think I may try the online version! |
Congrats!! I needed this motivation. I lost 75 lbs on WW about 3 years ago. I managed to keep most of it off for about a year. The last 6 months have been awful for me and I've gained back about 25 lbs and need to get back to WW. Been looking a kick in the pants.
WW is great, but for me, it only really worked when I knew I had to go and weigh in with someone. No one will ever make you feel bad for not losing or having a rough week, but it made me feel so much more accountable than a computer screen would. |
ITA!!! Brag here to your heart's content!!!!! You should feel so proud of yourself, nice f'ing job! |
