Do boys wear tuxedos or suits to prom?

My advice would be to purchase a nice black suit that he can bring to college with him. My (now a junior in college) has gotten a lot of use out of his black suit. I admit, though, that I also invested in a black tux when he was in HS because he had a number of black tie events to attend including 4 proms and a special event for a friend. He attended an all boys school, so there were many proms (junior and senior year for both his and the girls schools proms).

Well 20 years ago guys though white tuxedos looked great. Trendy is fine for the now.

Dark gray/charcoal is timeless - a great first suit that goes with pretty much any color accents you want to use.

Most at our school wear a nice suit that they can wear for other occasions.

I’ve seen a lot of variety of what the guys wear. Trending are those wild suits with themes… monopoly, smurfs, Vegas, or emoji print.
