How old is too old to party?

You're never too old to party IMO.

You only have to go back about 40 years to get to a period where every social gathering served martinis by the pitcher. Then keep going back and you have an unbroken timeline of grown adults getting soused pretty much constantly.

I mean, was the father of our country "too old to party?"

Didn't they live till 60

Average life expectancy was probably around there, but that was much more due to higher infant/child mortality and a greater risk of dying from infection/injury. Maybe a slight drop from greater alcohol consumption but not much.

As long as you're not drinking enough to destroy your liver even a relatively spirited "partier" is probably only taking a couple years off their life.

I mean, it obviously depends what you mean by "partying."

Ha! Funny story-when I was 23 and living in Miami I was with my then boyfriend ( now husband) at a low key dive bar and we were having drinks and getting to know the other people at the bar and the guy next to me asked if I liked to party. I said Sure! Because I thought he meant going to drink and dancing kind of party. So he then handed me a ziploc bag on coke and told me to try this and go to the bathroom. I was so shocked and embarrassed that I proceeded to the bathroom and was about to dump it in the toilet to make it look like I did it but thought it might be a lot of come so I didn’t do anything and just took it back to him and said thanks and then got my boyfriend and i out of there! He later told me I was naive and that when someone asks you if you like to party it means COKE.

60 year old guy is at his doctors.
Doctor tells him, "If you stop smoking, drinking, and chasing women, you'll live till you're 90."
Guy tells the doctor, "If I can't smoke, drink, and chase women, why would I want to live till I'm 90?"

Or do you mean getting very drunk or other behaviors that are inappropriate at any age?

I don't get why people think some things are allowed at X age, and others are not. Just act like a decent human being all the time.

I agree it depends on the meaning of the word party. I was at a wedding this weekend. First one in over 2 years. I drank, I danced, I laughed a lot...felt like "partying" to me. And felt totally age appropriate.

But if partying means coke and a sex club count me out.

You're never too old to party, it's just that the quality of the party changes.

Things that I don't want:
- disgusting, sticky floors that smell of stale beer
- vomit
- gropey strangers

Things that I do want:
- beautiful interiors, even at a club
- top shelf liquor
- company that isn't sketchy, even if they are strangers

You're living my goal at that age, lady. Thanks for giving me something fun to look forward to. I never wanted to be some boring old biddy who knits and read books.
