I agree likely a crapshoot but good luck! |
Another parent whose kid had similar stats that was waitlisted as well (for CS). Tech was one of their safeties and was a bit annoyed that they were waitlisted. Very happy where they are as well. I'd advice high stats kids to apply ED if at all possible. |
here is our FCPS Scattergram from 2021 for Tech. all over the place in my mind.
here's the UVA for comparison. Much more clearcut. (assuming the low SATs that got in were test optional from the covid year)

thats what ours looked like as well. Is this just 2021 though? I know ours incorporated about ten years. |
| PP who posted the pics...ours is only 2021. |
| Wow, that’s confirmed? Yeah, our scattergrams go back eight or so years. I’ve never heard of them being tiled year by year. Go Oakton. |
| Our is only one year as well. |
This is because the new President is pushing first-generation. Frankly, I don’t think the only polytechnic public institution in the Commonwealth wealth should be doing that -leave that to the privates to social engineer -but that’s what is going on. |
State U should be accessible to all state residents. |
There are not enough seats, Karen! |

I wish the scattergrams were accurate but they are not. Our UVA was similar and my child was at the top right of the chart and was rejected in EA. It was not a top choice really but I think the campus is beautiful and I liked it was close to home. That said, while it didn't show a single rejection or waitlist in my child's range, they were in fact rejected. And there were a LOT of green checks, as in your case. I know the data exists to make this all triangulate but it's not been exposed to parents and students to truly understand their chances. As such it forces them to apply to 50 schools because who the heck knows what is going to happen. I dont even know if the colleges know why they admit kids over others but a computer data analysis of the apps would find the trend if they agreed to them being analyzed. Which they wont - because it's "holistic" (random).

| They are accurate but not always predictive. |
| Are the notifications going out today? |
This is so interesting. Our school system does not have Naviance, so no scattergrams for us. The overworked counselor refused to make any college recommendations in any shape or form and only pointed to a list where kids got accepted to in the past 40 years (even if it was just one 30 years ago).

The last rumor I heard is that they will be out tomorrow--but that was just a rumor. Nothing confirmed. |
