Gray subway tiles in shower

I went with a vertical gray subway tile in 4 x 16 on shower walls. It's a warm gray and I chose the vertical stacking to elongate the walls - it's a basement bath and the ceiling is low. Floors will be on the lighter side. That said, in your situation I'd probably go with white since the floors are slate.
