How old are you?

I have random sudden high pitched ringing in my ears. My DD hears it at the same time I do so I don’t think it’s tinnitus. Other family members do not hear the same noise. Thoughts on what this could be?

Have you had the Covid vaccine? Google.

I woke up with tinnitus one morning at 39 and two years later still have it. After a "pristine" hearing test we know its nothing wrong with my ear, so ENT thinks its somatic tinnitus...basically some hyperexcitement of the auditory nerve due to things like muscle tension, c-spine alignment issues, etc. Grinding teeth and jaw clenching can make it happen. Its constant and doesn't go away and was really, really upsetting the first 6 weeks or so, but at this point, I don't even notice it 99% of the time. I definitely wish it would go away when I think about it, but I don't really think about it much at all these days. Most people really can get used to it and mine changed in tone over time where its more of just a light hissing/static-like sound instead of a tone.
