Anyone getting a Covid booster before birth?

I’m 9 weeks pregnant and 5 months out from my second dose. I’ll wait until second or third trimester but I will also see what my OB thinks. I thought if you get it later in pregnancy the baby gets antibodies. I know you wait until later for the Tdap for this reason.

Yes, definitely.

Ob recommended to get after 12 weeks. My first shot was j&j, but thinking an mrna would be better for blood clot risk (I know it is rare, but). Anyone else get j&j and have booster plans?

Me, planning to ask my OB about it at my next visit. I would like the mixed protection if they think it’s a good idea.

Did anyone receive useful advice from their OB on this? Mine literally told me that they don't know, I should talk to my primary care doctor.

No, but since mixed boosters aren’t approved, I think they are generally just being very cautious (and unhelpful) and saying that we should follow the “rules”.

Is any vaccine shown to be safer in another in pregnant women?

Wish the government would give more guidance. Why would a primary doctor or an OB be an expert in vaccines?

I got J&J. OB recommended getting both shots of either Moderna or Pfizer, with a nod to Pfizer for fewer side effects, noting that Moderna seems to be a bit more effective.

My OB recommended getting it in the second half of pregnancy to improve chances of passing on some immunity.

Resurfacing this. I got my vaccine doses at 4 and 7 weeks pregnant. Currently going on 37 weeks and my OB just recommended I get a booster since I’m six months out from my second dose. I will follow their advice but am a little skittish that I’ve now had two doses of a covid vaccine, have had tdap and flu within the last month and now am supposed to get a covid booster (each of the latter 3 will have been spaced two weeks apart.)

Hopefully baby is born with good immunity on all fronts…

Immediate PP back — my doctor said that there was no J&J booster recommendation yet (same again or mixed with mRNA) but the data she’d seen suggested that J&J protection while a bit lower to start with was a lot more persistent so she wasn’t sure boosters would even be recommended at all. As such, I’m continuing to wait.

I’ll be 7 weeks when I’m eligible for a booster (got Pfizer) and my doctor told me to get it ASAP. I’m high risk outside of pregnancy too, but my doctor said that rec is for all patients because the risk of COVID is so significant for pregnant women. The baby will have exposure to the antibodies throughout pregnancy, get some in my breast milk, and hopefully will be vaxxed at 6 months. My older kids are vaxxed and if needed I can keep my newborn away from unvaxxed people for 6 months for sure, so my doctor (and I) are not as concerned about the baby not having enough protection… the greater risk by far for both mom and baby is COVID during pregnancy.

My OB in DC told me there wasn’t an official stance on the booster and it isn’t necessary yet. I’m 24 weeks and was bummed to hear this. I think he is waiting for ACOG / some other official recommendation for pregnant women.

???? ACOG came out in support of the Pfizer booster weeks ago. My doctors expect they will do the same with moderna and J&J once they are approved.
