I think both Mali and Mia are too close to big sister Mara. I'd avoid names that start with M.
What about: Ava Ada Anya Elena Eva Jane Tess |
| I know a Mara with sister Mindy. |
|
I would avoid Trey and Trace for a boy. Way too cutesy.
|
I think the idea is that these are nicknames. The child's name would be the same as his dad and grandfather's. These are nicknames that mean "the third". Trey, in particular, used to be popular among Southern families, though I don't hear it as much lately. |

It sounds like you just want girl names, then? Since he will be Trey/Trace if a boy? My girl suggestions:
Alexa & Mara Lydia & Mara Claire & Mara Adelaide & Mara Rose & Mara |
|
Mara and Trace are cool. Neither Mia nor Mali are good with Mara, though.
Maybe ... Tess Cecelia Georgia Susannah |
Yes, I realize that Trey and Trace are nicknames for the third, I’m just saying that it seems way too cutesy to me. It also seems outdated and something a boy would find embarrassing as he gets older. I have a cousin whose parents did this to him and he hates it, but feels stuck with the name now because he doesn’t want to use the same first name as his dad or grandfather. He wishes someone had told his parents not to do this. |
| Trace? That sounds like a Sarah Palin name. |
| Op here, so DH shares his name with a cousin of mine and another cousin's husband(who goes by the common nickname). We've agreed that Trey or Trace is a decent name for those reasons. |
