Others with a bicorunuate uterus or who suffered PROM during pregnancy?

Anonymous
Because of my bicornurate uterus, my amniotic sack prematurely ruptured at 25 weeks. I lasted four weeks before delivering, which I gather is unprecedented, and gave birth to a 29 weeker who went on to have a number of special needs. As I contemplate future family planning I'm eager to hear stories from other women who suffered either of these circumstances and went on to have more successful pregnancies the second time around (or who are struggling with the same obstacles now). My doctors are very bullish on me trying again because they feel like my uterus has "proved" it can get to at least 29 weeks so I'm very likely to get there or further next time. I'm less confident about this - very skittish, given the outcome the first time around -- so if it happened to be true for you or anyone you know, I'm dying to hear about it.

Thanks.

I think you really need to talk to some docs who are familiar with this. From what I know, it varies from person to person (the degree of mis-shape of the uterus) and even pregnancy to pregnancy depending on where the implantation occurs. If you can find an expert in the area, hopefully they could evaluate you on your own situation.

OP here - I have talked with about a dozen specialists. I'm trying to supplement that clinical information with anecdotes from other women in a similar situation. Thanks.

I might try and post this question on the general parenting forum OR expectant mom forum.

I think most people who visit this forum have different challenges.

Best of luck with whatever you decide
