Winning < Development

Constantly seeking validation through trophies just feeds the ego. Bethesda is still one of the top environments for a kid to develop in the area as someone who had options and visited multiple clubs.

Can you be more explicit? How does Bethesda development compare to the other clubs you had options with, I assume you mean roster spots?

At my child’s age, simple ball mastery, speed of play and freedom to make mistakes. Emphasis on making fast decisions. Less tactical focus on winning strategies and more focus on technical skills.

We were happy with Arlington and Achilles so BSC is no magic bullet, just our choice. No club is perfect.

IMHO, it is the parents who f things up and way too over the top, not necessarily the coaches.

The 2014 and 2013 Boys were both 1-3, combined 2-6.

The 2015 boys and girls did OK, not great. It’s probably not fair to harp on results when the goal is development. But these uber competitive tournaments are part of the problem, 120% about winning, not playing well.
