But whatever your politics, some advice:
DO NOT try to interfere with officers making an arrest
and if you did (as the professor says) “act impulsively and poke an officer on the head”
you have a RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT…. DO NOT confess on camera….This professor isn’t very smart…

Well worth watching for a primer on how NOT to behave.

Interfere with an officer making an arrest.

Slap that officer on the head.

Refuse police commands.

Wet your pants.

Confess on camera.

Truly remarkable idiocy.

Basically a privileged white woman feeling entitled to put her hands on working-class cops of all races and scold them while they are trying to do their job of enforcing the law…..Is she Professor Karen or Comrade Karen?

Unfortunately the Democratic Party is trying to fast-track a second coming of the Nazi Regime of the 1930s. This insane woman is little more than a useful idiot for their anti-Semitic goals.

I mean, we can hope that the government does the right thing and she won’t see the outside of an isolation cell for decades to come, but we all know that she will just get a slap on the wrist and let out with no repercussions for her violent terroristic actions that will continue to put innocent Jewish lives at risk.

The woman is a hero for standing up for students.

She hit a cop and resisted arrest.

Being charitable, she’s an idiot.

Defend that shit! I dare you to defend that psychotic law enforcement reaction to an elderly woman pleading with other law enforcement violently arresting students for protesting. Go!

Are you serious? I’ve watched the complete video multiple times.

She interfered with an officer making an arrest, struck that officer on the head, and resisted arrest.

All of which are illegal, immoral, and dangerous. You NEVER strike a police officer. You ALWAYS obey officers. Period.

Didn’t you learn anything from Jan 6th?

I hope they yank her tenure and charge her. She deserves serious consequences.

Liar. I’ve watched the video numerous times and she never strikes the police officer.

Ok, last time: she ADMITS striking the officer. On video. Says she was “impulsive” in doing so.

You want to make stuff up? Carry on.

I don't give a rip what she said. People say impulsive shit all the time that is based on misunderstanding, trying to defuse conflict, etc. For all I know, and I've asked for the video link showing any of this other than her getting the stuffing beaten out of her (and apparently the gravy, too) by two 200+ lb. officers, she could have apologized for "hitting" the cop when she tried to push him off of her while he was going Chief Jay Strongbow on her.

Again, video link of her pummeling a cop, please.

Per my last email, it’s been linked to earlier in this thread.

OK, the only link I've found shows her having her head slammed into a concrete pathway while two adult men with public safety training are driving their knees into her prone body, and essentially gifting her with a multi-million $$$ suit under 18 U.S.C. § 242 wrapped in a big red bow.

Lol. Not a chance. By the video evidence alone, she’s guilty of at least three crimes.

She’s lucky she’s connected; otherwise she’d be in her way to multiple convictions.

You’d have to assemble a jury of police officers and their immediate family members to convict that woman of anything. The only video we have is of a woman being battered by an officer whose training is an embarrassment to the agency he serves under.

Good lord, that never makes it to a jury, that’s a seven figure award.

DeKalb, Georgia court records show Fohlin, the Emory professor seen on video being thrown to the ground and handcuffed by an Emory police officer for expressing concern at the violent arrest of a protester, was jailed for 11 hours and charged with "Battery Against Police Officer"

Will forever be on her record.

She should be terminated from her job. But, she will probably be given an award.

She will be given multiple awards including a settlement and a book deal. Thanks for paying!

Excellent. Glad to hear this.

Not a great showing by Columbia. He/she/they made all those violent remarks about "Zionists" during a hearing with administrators back in January. Nothing happened then. Clearly Columbia is just fine with hate speech. It was only some bad PR that finally got them to do something.

X100

He’s banned from campus but no one is reporting on whether he is finishing his classes online since they just went hybrid for the rest of the year. Why not expelled?

I presume that means he wasn't expelled, which is infuriating.

+1 they only did something because this video surfaced. They’ve known about it for months.

The pro-Israel agitator at Northeastern should also be expelled for yelling "kill the Jews".

Because of him, the university shut down the protest. He wasn't arrested, but 100 pro-Palestinian protesters were. There is video evidence of him yelling it, after the protest leader asks the protesters to repeat after them.

I can’t read but presumably they started repeating the chant! Oh sorry. Maybe just chanting Glovalize the Intafada

Here is a link from the student newspaper also stating it was a pro-Israel counter protester who said it.

From the article you posted.

The video shows part of a tense, 30-minute standoff, where pro-Israel counter protesters entered the encampment and eventually verbally clashed with pro-Palestine demonstrators. Pro-Palestine demonstrators had earlier chanted “Globalize the Intifada” and “Free Palestine,” while the pro-Israel counter protesters called for the release of Israeli hostages.

Without context of what happened this appears to be something different than what happened. He was saying it rhetorically. So I guess if that got the protesters who were actually saying it non rhetorically cleared out then so be it.

Not likely. I'm not sure law enforcement is eligible for awards for standard duty, but we'll see. He can try, and she likely has the money.

There is no evidence that any protesters said it, except for the pro-Israeli counter protester.

Globalize the intifada is saying it.

Anonymous wrote:Report from GWU:

There were about 200 people, 3 dozen tents, and a visible but quiet police presence at every entry point to the “encampment,” which is surrounded by metal gates. The protesters inside the gates have been there for more than 2 days, don’t have anywhere to go to the bathroom, and have no intention of leaving anytime soon. Those outside the gates can’t get in, meaning the encampment itself won’t grow although tents are popping up around it.

The leaders held a press conference and said they won’t leave until their demands are met, which include the university divesting of all financial connections to what they called the “Zionist regime.” They said 9 GW students have been suspended for protesting. They said the president of the university refused to speak with them. They called for the police to leave campus. They emphasized that they believe antisemitism is wrong but anti Zionism is right.

Their chants speak for themselves. If you are asking me, I don’t personally agree with what they are chanting. Specifically, I don’t think the term “genocide” is right but I do think there is lots of evidence the Israeli forces may have committed war crimes in Gaza and those alleged crimes must be investigated. But I was not there to express my views. I was there to observe and tell you my readers what I saw.

I saw lots of young people who have lost all hope that the system will do anything to address their grievances or the suffering of their community members. At the same time, I saw a protest effort that is demanding things it must know it cannot achieve through these means. That tells me this is only the beginning and the goal of finding any common ground between these communities is tragically getting farther and farther from reach.

Thanks for the report.

This is nothing new. Saw the same thing in CA with prop 187.

Once the news cycle moves on, 95% of the students will go on with their lives.

Do you think they will just forget this….especially in the lead up to election in November?

DP. Nope. Reports today that Morehouse is having Biden given the commencement and they’re gearing up for protest. But they’re very nervous because they don’t have same privilege to protest.

Said decision was up to a few people, but if it had been more widely discussed it never would have happened. One person said “I don’t know a single person happy with this,” and people saying they will skip graduation over being on a stage w Biden.
