Tell me about Armstrong Elementary in Reston

dd could go there in the fall or i may keep her at the current montessori school she attends. Do the kids actually learn in 1/2 day kinder. and after kinder care?

where are you on the SACC waitlist?

I only wish. Yeah, 8 schools in Reston - only 2 are still stuck with the ridiculous half-day garbage. Beyond annoying.

Oh, that's right...it must be Aldrin that is full day.

Made it on the after K SACC list but we are #53 on the after school SACC list. My job is somewhat flexible so I'm going to have to do some creative scheduling to be there to pick her up at 3:20 everyday. ahhh!

there is the kindercare across the street, too. check into their pricing. I am going to drop in on them soon and make sure they fully explain their after-K pricing to me. $100 for 3 days a week didn't seem right.

Is this your only child? Any chance a nanny would be more economical?

DD went to the kindercare for a couple months when she was two (we had just moved to the area and she was starting at a montessori school in the fall). I wasn't very impressed with the older kids classrooms.

I have two kids and the second is at the montessori school and we can't swing a nanny as well.

What is the schedule like at the Montessori? Would transporting to 2 schools become an issue?

If you are paying for the two of them already, I say stick it out one more year.
