Does it matter? How is this former AP going to pay? How much insurance is there? The teacher will see very little of this.

But it's definitely a positive moral victory.

The VA Risk Sharing Association will pay.

How much are the shooters' parents paying?

The gun seller?

The government that refused to implement gun control?

Shooter's mom is in jail it looks like. For child neglect, drugs etc.
Gun seller zero because Republicans in Congress gave them immunity from prosecution.
Government zero.

Meanwhile this poor young teacher gets her life wrecked because guns don't shoot people, 6 year olds shoot people.

She'll get money to help with recovery. She's lucky she was shot by a kid and not by a cop.

Is this payment supposed to come from the assistant principal? Or the school system, because she does not have that $$ and is now facing criminal trial next week.

Apparently the superintendent and principal were never charged. What will be the source of $$?

For those who want to know how and why this happened- it's very simple. Those of us who teach all understand. No one was willing to do anything, not the admin, the other teachers, the teacher- due to the overwhelming liability facing school employees in today's school environment. If a kid has an IEP, or even if he does not, a staff member could be sued for anything. No one wanted to touch that bag. Or him.
It really could have been the absolute worst of tragedies, kids being killed, etc. Teacher is correct- she will never teach again. Most teachers feel this way, it's a very dangerous environment for so many reasons.

Attitudes like this are why people voted so hard core last year and we have who we have running this country. Stop.

Principal wasn’t there that day.

School board/superintendent had sovereign immunity under the Virginia Tort Claims Act I think.

According to the news articles, several school staff saw the gun and reported it to the assistant principal. Teacher is now studying cosmetology but her hand (which was one of the places shot) doesn't work well enough for her to finish the degree.

Assistant principal said something along the lines of "who would think a 6 yo could shoot someone" but in America where any idiot/criminal/druggie can buy a gun (and often does), of course you have to think of the worst case scenario. Assistant principal also resigned too.

No, that was the assistant principal who is to blame because the principal wasn’t there.
