Infertility Support and Discussion
I thought I might be getting sick yesterday and woke up with a terrible sore throat today. I've read that illness can delay or stop ovulation. Is this true even when you have taken a trigger shot?
I don't think so. Ask your RE. What kind of cycle are you doing?
OP here - slow stim with follistim, trigger w/Ovidrel, TI
You will be fine. Usually stress is the main factor in delaying ovulation. Sore throat not so much.
I'm pretty sure you'll still ovulate on time. What sucks when you're doing timed intercourse is that you still have to have intercourse, even though you feel like crap!! Good luck. Been there, done that.
Triggering pretty much takes ovulation out of your body's control. You should be fine. Its just a bummer that your TI is going to have to be when you don't really 'feel' it.

You will still ovulate within about 36 hrs of the trigger. Ovidrel is pretty powerful stuff - you are injecting the hormone that forces ovulation, not producing it on your own, so feeling under the weather isn't going to stop you from ovulating.
Hope you feel better! |
OP here - thanks for the reassurance. I will do my best to fight through it and try to still have fun, or at least seem like I am
