Can anybody share experiences? My high school age identicals will be looking at colleges before long. They are extremely similar in academic performance, extracurricular interests, and personality. Their applications are going to look virtually identical, assuming their SAT scores are similar (and based on past experience with standardized tests, they will be). I know they will be writing their own essays, but with similar life experiences, I can't imagine they will be markedly different from one another.
My kids have always gone to the same schools, and although they may want to separate for college, I expect the same colleges are going to appeal to them. Will being identical twins hurt their applications if they are applying to the same schools? Should they hedge their bets by applying to different schools, and if so, how to decide who gets to apply where if they both have the same top choices? The bond they have is so special, and they have always supported one another, so I hate to think of them having to compete against each other for a college spot. Are college admissions folks sensitive to this situation? TIA
