Anyone out there who knows something about phone taps?

Does clicking on your line really mean that your phone has been tapped? Landline phone to landline phone. Thanks.

No. No it doesn't. It could mean all sorts of things, mostly related to a problem with the service. Honestly, if it were so obvious to be able to tell when your phone is tapped, the device would not be nearly as useful as it is in prosecutions.

We had a lot of clicking noises on our phone once and it was caused by exposed wires outside the house. (It was worse when it rained.) I do think that tapping the phone makes clicking noises, though, because when I was talking to the technician about what could have been causing our noise, he mentioned it.
