They hired a private judge. He was the same judge who married them in France. Brad won custody, but Angelina had the judge disqualified on a technicality. He was unlucky, because any other judge who couldn’t be disqualified and he probably would have gotten 50/50 custody.

You know there was absolutely nothing stopping him from filing a new request right

He appealed to the CA Supreme Court on that ruling and was denied.

He can still go back to the lower courts to file a new modification. That's what he said he would but never did.

Aren’t the kids too old to keep fighting for custody? I thought he stopped once he realized the kids would reach 18 before court proceedings concluded.

I think children are allowed a say in their custody preference. I think it’s 14 years of age. I think the twins would have been close to that age by the time any new custody modification Brad filed was decided in family court.
