The most worrisome thing is that the number of unauthorized immigrants in the US has DECLINED since 2007 (and had declined between 2007 and 2016 btw) as well as border apprehensions.
While the political baiting about invasions has INCREASED and the management of the system has devolved into chaos. How is it a system that is dealing with FEWER cases is MORE overwhelmed? https://www.pewhispanic.org/2018/11/27/u-s-unauthorized-immigrant-total-dips-to-lowest-level-in-a-decade/ |
I don’t know what was in the bill but knowing the democrats probably something pretty favorable towards illegal immigration, akin to DACA. |
DP. I agree. Ironically, the child of a legal immigrant, fired after 28 years of work, who volunteered at CASA de Maryland, and told their parent they didn't think they helped with "that kind of advice". If they can't help a legal immigrant, barely keeping their head above water, with some employment advice, what do they do? I can't tell you how sad I am about this legal immigrant - losing their beloved job - over a purely innocent mistake. So, so, so upset. |
Agree, but no path to residence/citizenship and no bringing family. However it becomes complicated if they meet in the US and start having kids... so I think birthright citizenship (with all the benefits) has to go, too. |
Schools get extra money for ESOL, school districts are getting money for social programs like free aftercare and enrichment, etc. |
Yes, full on amnesty for 11.5 million illegal immigrants currently in the country. |
+1 schools get money for butts in seats. It doesnt matter if those butts are here legally. It's about the money at every turn. Even in colleges, they want the tuition no matter who it comes from. Follow the money in every scenario and you will see why so many are advocating hard for this. Nevermind that the money is coming from taxpayers. |
JFC THATS NOT WHAT THEY SAID, THATS NOT WHAT ANY OF THEM SAID THEY SAID THEY SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR HEALTH INSURANCE. |
I am super confused at how you think European settlement of Australia happened. |
They're already eligible for private healthcare. Illegal immigrants should not be eligible for government paid for healthcare |
“Can undocumented immigrants get health care now? People in the country illegally are generally barred from enrolling in Medicaid or Medicare. They are also prohibited from buying insurance through the marketplaces set up by the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. Undocumented children do not qualify for the Children’s Health Insurance Program, commonly known as CHIP.“ No, they’re not. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/03/health/undocumented-immigrants-health-care.html |
JFC, it’s amazing you don’t forget to breathe. |
These are all government programs. They should not have access to these. They can buy private insurance directly from the insurance company. What part of the word private didn't you comprehend? |
