And who does Trump hire to staff his resorts and make his cheap clothes? |
For years the Republicans have been riding the resentment of rural Americans in order to help big business. You can understand why rural Americans have some resentment but still recognize that Trump is just the apex of that process. The dems are more likely to actually help rural America than Trump is, but their help comes with a lot of urban value baggage. |
It's like taxes. he didn't write the laws. Tax codes and social security and medicare are political. frankly insurance didn't use to be political. Now it underwriting by legislation. Fiscal crisis? Before it did anyone ever have mortgages granted with NO money? That was BS. |
The Democrats' policies only hurt rural America.
1) The Democrats love micromanaging with a large federal government. The EPA is one example of this. The EPA writes more and more regulations making farmers' jobs more difficult. When they write new rules, they do not consider the impact that it will have on rural America. The larger the government becomes, the more it impedes economic growth. A message to the EPA: Get out of the way and let the farmers do their job. Some regulation is okay. But, the amount of regulation is getting ridiculous. 2) The new death tax (40%, no more valuation discount): This is not good for family owned farms/businesses 3) Rural America demographics: They own more property and they are largely self-employed. Republican policies are better for small businesses, self-employed, and owners of land.

oh please, there is nothing more ridiculous than farmers claiming the feds are "interfering" too much in their business. First of all, they like to hide behind the idea of the family farm when most of them are giant agribusinesses. The average hog farm used to raise a few hundred hogs, now it's more like 10,000, with no place to put all the hogshit. Second of all, there are few industries more dependent on government regulation and subsidies-- farmers will get about $14 BILLION in crop support this year-- which is about 25% of their net income (for comparison all federal TANF, or "welfare" payments aren't much more, about $16 billion). I am not against having some sort of crop support program but for farmers to complain about too much federal involvement is basically like my teenager asking me for $40 and not wanting to tell me what the hell he needs it for. Third, because of the hallowed place farmers have in our political mythology, they already bear far less than their fair share of regulation. Water systems need to spend billions and billions to clean up nitrates from farm pollution runoff, and they've killed off much of the Chesapeake bay, Everglades, and lots of other important areas. By the way, there are already provisions to help family farms deal with estate taxes, and they are hardly ever needed/used, so that's another smokescreen. |
This is the problem with the Democratic party. They micromanage everything. They tell us where our money should go. They tell doctors how they should practice medicine. They tell farmers how they should farm. They tell military commanders how they should lead. They tell teachers how they should teach. Enough is enough!

and the problem with the Republicans is they trust big business to do whatever they think is best, when as Trump will very clearly tell you, they only care for what's best for the owners and top executives. That's how you end up with businesses driving wages down and moving everything offshore. |
$14 billion we give to farmers-- we pay them when prices are low because supply is high and we pay them when prices are high because supply is low. And when they cause asthma with their giant lagoons of hogshit, or when they kill off the Everglades with the runoff from growing sugar we are supposed to say "thank you sir, may I have another". So the farms get bigger, and the rest of us are left with shut, literally. |
Jobs get moved overseas because all of the government regulations have made it too expensive to keep employees in the United States. When jobs are moved overseas, our economy takes a hit. And, Democrats are just as much in cahoots with top executives. Do a little research on how Mylan CEO, Heather Bresch, was able to price gouge and learn about the Democrats role in this. The Democrats are great at convincing the poor and the middle class that they are working for them. This could not be further from the truth. Their policies only hurt these groups.

Some of us voters don't want to spend $1.6 billion+ to lock up illegal immigrants each year. Some find the 69,000+ sexual assaults and 25,000 homicides committed annually by illegal immigrants to be largely avoidable tragedies.
Some of us find the notion of sanctuary cities, which often release criminals back on the streets, unconscionable. Americans like Marilyn Pharis, who died a year ago this past August in her home after being brutally raped and beaten with a hammer by two men, one an illegal immigrant who had been arrested six times in the 15 months prior. He was arrested TWO WEEKS before he attacked this woman, but because of California law, police did not have authority to hold him based on his immigration status. And before you call BS on those numbers, read the GAO report: http://www.gao.gov/assets/320/316959.pdf |
Please take some economics classes. Any gain from this would be wiped out by losses from exports as countries hit us with retaliatory m assures You can't undo the globalization. |
“My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders, sometime in the future with energy that’s as green and sustainable as we can get it, powering growth and opportunity for every person in the hemisphere,” Clinton reportedly said to investors in a paid speech she gave to Brazilian Banco Itau in 2013.
Yeah, she's going to halt illegal immigration. |
The US has far fewer regulations than many, many jurisdictions. As well as lower taxes. Jobs have been moved overseas to increase short term profits so that executives can maximize bonuses and cash in. Yes, they would love to freely pollute and ruin the air and water of this country, so they push the regulation lie, but it's really labor costs. |
Yes... Let's be like all other nations. Great idea! If you want to live somewhere else, move to a different country.
Liberal policies hurt businesses. Read the previous posts on minimum wage and micromanagement. These posts point out just a few examples of how liberal policies hurt businesses. Some businesses cannot afford to keep employees in the United States. And, others move businesses overseas because they make a larger profit. Liberal policies make it so that there is no financial benefit to keeping the jobs here. As a side note, high CEO pay is unforgivable. However, it really does not affect the pay of other workers in a company. These employees would make the same no matter what because their salaries are based on marketplace worth. High CEO pay affects a company's profit. The people who should be mad about this are the shareholders. And, in the case of Mylan CEO, Heather Bresch, any person who depends on an EpiPen should be furious.

Me again... I enjoy debating topics like this. However, we probably need to agree to disagree. I have a feeling that I will not change your opinion and you will not change my opinion. We both have specific reasons for why we believe our side's policies are better for the nation.
