+1 Jeff, can we start a First World Problems forum so the rest of us don't even have to read the titles of this tripe? |
|
News flash: You don't have to read every title/thread. Some of us enjoy learning things from more knowledgeable people. |
As do I. I just don't even want to know that shallow, greedy people are looking for ways to save a few thousand in taxes. Guess where I would never click? The "First World Problems" forum. All of your Richie Riches can go there and bitch about your terrible lot in life, and the rest of us will be happy to see you go. |
You really have a chip on your shoulder. The First World Problems threads are tongue-in-cheek. No one is really bitching. It's in fun. Too bad you have such an angry view of the world. |
Based on the thread title, maybe you shouldn't have clicked. Too bad you can't get the time back that you spent on this thread. Being angry about people who have excess will bring you unhappiness that isn't going to end. |
| HHI of 400k here... what I'll be doing in 2013: paying more in taxes and glad to do it. If you're in the 1% and you're complaining about a few thousand bucks in taxes, money that you would otherwise have socked under the mattress anyway, you're scum. Do you really think we can go on as a prosperous country with rates at a near all-time low? We're quickly losing ground in all the important areas (education, health, happiness, environment, energy, etc) compared to nations that have tax rates MUCH higher than ours. |
+1. HHI of "only" $280K here. |
| Notice who is complaining on this thread. |
Ummm, the most wealthy among us who won't be able to conspicuously consume as much b/c they have to pay a few extra thousand in taxes? Wah wah wah. |
There's been no such complaining on this thread. |
That was the PREMISE of this entire thread. "Obama won the election and now we are FUCKED! Oh, no!!!!!! How are we going to preserve our fortunes?" |
Yours is an overwrought response to a fact-based discussion. Unless you are OP and know something that was never stated in the thread. Some of us were simply discussing personal finances. |
Oh, okay. You go on believing that. The sky is falling chicken little threads from the 1% have been going on since the election was called last Tuesday night. |
Here's the point: it's called tax planning. No one's stuffing cash in suitcases as pp said. The only hysteria on this thread is coming from those who will not be asked to pay more in taxes. |
