OP here. You over-rotated a bit there my friend. While not a SSSAS fan, I have defended KJ multiple times here. I predicted SSSAS would take the ISL and VISAA on this board. Very good team. No axe to grind. I just think stall ball in the first half is bush league in a state final. As you correctly noted above, SSSAS was the stronger team. Go out that way, play with confidence; I'm certain the players would have preferred it. Holding the ball in a one or two goal game in the 4th is understandable. Holding the ball earlier if you're a massive underdog who went on a run and took a lead--maybe. But holding the ball starting in the first half when you are dominating the game, is not sportsmanlike. Winning tactic, sure. Just not awesome. |
This sounds pretty reasonable. Should be a close one. |
Everyone knows who this is mom! Please for the love just stay off forum. |
This 100% Congrats to the Saints players! Well deserved! Looking forward to seeing all the DMV players from all these local schools playing in college. Our local peeps should be so proud of all these players and thankful the state championship trophy stayed in the DMV as it helps our region for recruiting and building strong lacrosse reputation for all these teams & for all the DMV programs. Instead of betting against each other support each team’s wins! Happy for the SSSA and know many of the parents/players! I would much rather have SSSA with the trophy than a school in Charlottesville! |
Visi wins 13-8 |
I think this is something we all can agree on! Keep the State Championship trophy in our local area is definitely a win for all teams here! Also, Congrats to Visi! 🏆 |
Visi got all but 1 or 2 draws. ND commit just put the ball wherever she wanted to. Relatively even game otherwise, but possession is everything. Impressive effort. |
Thanks for the recap! And congrats to Visi. |
The Madeira goalie was really good. A senior and with NCS gone next year's race is wide open. |
Nah. They’ll start with mostly freshman next year, develop them, skipping over the other grades, and then play for another title in four years. |
This is just ignorant.80 percent of saints is best player plays. 20 percent are political appointments. |
Not really. It’s already been made pretty clear the best players are only two current juniors. And then maybe a current sophomore and freshman or two - and even those probably aren’t for sure. It will be mostly new faces - freshman or transfers. |
| Who cares. |
Who writes this garbage? This is so sad. Everyone knows who you are. |
| Get ready for the axe to grind fan club to come out in full force after clinching a double championship. It's inevitable that highly ranked competitive teams like SSSAS and SR will attract a swarm of haters, often fueled by their own bitter parents or players warming the bench who love to make some noise here. Also, do not forget about the players or parents from opposing teams who just can't handle losing to them. They may have more motivation to spread false narratives and fake news about programs. |
