Thanksgiving ruination due to shutdown

Obviously this is a rare and specific situation, but there are many other reasons why it's helpful to be able to reach your kids easily without dependency on air travel.

Yes, but this isn't really a reason to not allow your kid to be a plane ride away.

Signed,
Parent of 3 kids, who all attended college 2-3K miles from home and 2 of them were a 2 flight ride away (so 9-12 hours to get to them)

It is definitely a reason. You don’t happen to agree, but it IS a reason and one I stand by.

If you plan strategically, flying during Thanksgiving isn’t a hassle at all. We’ve done it twice in recent years both out of the country and to Orlando, and it was a smooth and easy experience both times.

Well normally it's fine, but not when 10-20% of flights are automatically cancelled and half the major airport are running 2-4 hour delays on flights that are "happening". If you have connections you are screwed, and your college kid might make it there, but take an extra 2 days to get back (if flight is cancelled or they miss connection, there won't be empty seats on other flights for everyone)

normally it would be fine but not when the country is going to sh*t thx to trump and the maga Rs

Hey cheer up the legislative branch will sell out the Americans on ACA and maybe snap to stop the ruination of airline revenues, hotels, and travelers like you.
