And Andover has tons of low scoring blacks and Hispanics. What’s your point |
An exception that proves the rule |
several hundred do at any given moment. Go play bridge at Congo or Columbia and see where the grandchildren are going to school |
Correct. Is this an experience you want for John or Susan? They could’ve gotten a 4.3 unweighted at Walt Whitman without any effort and sailed to Brown. |
WTF are you talking about? I don't know Congo or Columbia, but I know at CC Club absolutely nobody's grandchildren are attending DCPS. |
Well..Andover says that 65%-70% are white, 15% are Asian...they only list about 10% as Hispanic/URM. I assume these demographics look similar at other boarding schools. |
Hence why I didn’t say CC…. |
Sure...but the grandparents at Congressional have lots of grandkids at DCPS (and I would assume MCPS too). This is silly and you know it. |
Very different clubs |
Where does Andover say that? 59% are students of color and it is only ticking higher. Let’s get your numbers straight before mouthing off about affirmative action at boarding schools https://d2e3a5v56wj8r4.cloudfront.net/files/SchoolProfile2023-2024.pdf |
Still just as silly as a comment. Only club around here where I ever hear of families with DCPS kids is Kenwood but that's a much lower membership fee and anyone can join that pays the fee. |
Kenwood is full of rich members. Many are richer than CC which has a lot of legacies who aren’t doing too hot in this economy. |
Kenwood? They have to rub elbows with the poors? I am shocked and chagrined. Disgusting! |
Exactly. There are plenty of families in DCPS who can easily afford private school and decide not to. I find it amusing this poster criticized differentiating between clubs and then did so immediately after. Sad! |
This makes no sense. CC annual dues are much higher than Kenwood. Are you claiming they let them skip paying because they are "legacies"? New CC membership fees are also much higher and they do keep adding members. |
