A pipeline to The Street is more important than an ocean view. |
I have always thought Virginia Tech should be on the list. |
I would replace this one with Sewanee. Same architecture but on 13,000 mountaintop acres instead of a postage stamp in Memphis. |
And what does this have to do with the Thread? The thread is about beauty, NOT a pipeline to the street you knucklehead. |
What an irrelevant post….omg…you people never cease to amaze me… |
Sewanee was on the original list and is beautiful. |
The confusion may stem from the fact that Sewanee is also known as The University of the South. And, I agree, that the campus is gorgeous. |
I think the PP was distinguishing between colleges, with specific reference to Pepperdine, with (a) nice campuses (e.g., the buildings, walkways, greenspaces, and other parts of the actual campus itself) and (b) the scenic location of the campuses (e.g., ocean and mountain views). YMMV, but it seems like a relevant distinction to me. |
Not sure Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia should be on the list. |
+1 It is on other lists. https://www.cntraveler.com/galleries/2016-01-29/the-20-most-beautiful-college-campuses-in-america |
(OP here.) This is a great list ! Thank you for posting. Truthfully speaking, there are hundreds of colleges & universities in the USA that should be included on any list of most beautiful colleges. Most beautiful colleges settings might be another list to compose. Certainly would include many colleges & universities bordering mountains and/or water. |
(OP again.)
College of Charleston (South Carolina) is set in a gorgeous and offers surfing at a nearby beach. The C of C Honors College is solid and offers lots of partial scholarships designed to offset out-of-state (non-resident) tuition surcharge. Outstanding restaurants & interesting accommodations for visitors. SCAD in Savannah, Georgia is another school located in a beautiful city full of charm. |

UVA is kind of 20% Jeffersonian and 80% George Masonian. |
