I already have an answer to that, what I actually want is an opt out lottery where every student is entered and then given a tour if selected, rather than just having people who know about it and sign up for it. Also a public lottery with names. If you want a private school on private time, your kids name can show up on the lottery draw. |
Calm down, take a breath. And then use those reading comprehension skills. Now pull up middle and elementary schools. If you even know where to find that, since you pulled the wrong data already. |
Are you new here, Ms. anonymous? What kind of weird dig is that? I have spoken at medical school board meetings, don’t worry. I don’t quite even understand your point, because generally the people who do use usernames are considered kind of out of touch. But it’s very clear and none of you have anything to say about why your school is special. It’s almost become sad. |
I know it seems like I’m having a stroke, but I’m using Siri dictation and really it’s not quite ready for prime time |
Yes, I knew you were talking about elementary schools, but this discussion is about high schools. If HB was a elementary school, then we would discuss it. |
You said HB is the whitest school in APS, but we all know it's not. You just don't want to look at the schools that are whiter. Also strange that you just want to look at high schools when HB is both a High and a Middle school. But you do you. |
Wow, I followed your link and you are totally right. Other middle and high schools have higher numbers of white kids and lower minorities than HB, and Williamsburg MS has a much lower percentage of kids receiving free lunch. So I guess troll just lied to make their numbers story better? Or doesn’t know how to pull the right stats? Which fits into the rest of their general APS incompetence. I won’t be responding to this troll anymore, not worth the time. |
Okay, I'll look for you at the next medical school board meeting whatever that is I guess. My point is if you actually want to engage in a real conversation, trolling on DCUM ain't the way to do it. |
It's it's not a straight lottery and there are backroom dealings and secret admissions, than that absolutely should the stopped. Are you suggesting that it's not just a lottery? If it is just a lottery, then it's not complicated. |
Yes, instead of fewer kids getting to attend HB for 7 years, more kids will get the option for 4 years. That's inherently more equitable. It also aligns with when students choose other HS option programs including ArlTech and IB. And it's later so when choice is more informed and student-driven, versus 5th grade when parents are largely just trying to avoid large, overcrowded middle schools, instead of actually choosing a program for its substance (to the extent there is any). |
It's a country-side option program that is significantly less diverse than the county. Neighborhood schools have walk zones and busing costs that hinder making them more diverse. What's HB's excuse? I can't think of a reason for it to be so extremely out of balance with the county averages. |
ack, autocorrect. *county-wide, not country-side |
Hey troll where do your kids go to school? Your obsession with other kids’ school is odd and creepy. No I’m not giving out info on my kid’s school to some random anonymous stranger on the internet. |
I don't think you understand the meaning of the word troll. This thread is about HB. My kids' schools have been discussed on other threads. No school is immune. |
hahaha that's not why they are not more diverse |
