Were they excluded because they’re going to be reclassified to have even fewer rights than a probationary employee and then mass fired? |
No. I want to make sure I get a windfall from the taxpayers. |
I am a lawyer.
You are a moron if you take the offer. Also, the offer will likely be temporarily enjoined tomorrow by a federal judge, and at minimum the deadline will be delayed. TRO hearing is tomorrow afternoon. Hold the line! |
At least the Twitter people who were stiffed had arbitration and those who went to arbitration are winning full severance. People who take DRP sign away ALL their rights and have absolutely no recourse if Elmo screws them. |
Then who in their right minds is agreeing to this? |
they don't *lose* their pension, it's just deferred until they turn 62. or rejoin the gov later and then retire... |
Hold the line.
Meeting at 1pm tomorrow. Let President Musk and his cronies figure out a new plan for firing people. I’m sure they will but make it difficult. |
Oh bullshit, like a two fed household is like you know what is better than this (*gesticulates around*), a two unemployment household. ![]() |
let me rephrase, not just a two fed household, a two fed lawyer household. We are many things but risk takers isn’t it. musk and co just want to gum up the numbers so they can claim this “program” wasn’t an enormous waste of time and resources with no upside. |
Is signing the deferred resignation offer somehow worse than just normally resigning? At this point, I just want to get out of the federal government. The chance that I’ll get admin leave is nice, but I don’t care if I don’t get it. Should I sign it? Or would I actually be worse off signing this agreement than if I just resigned normally? |
How many jobs do you think are out there in private sector world for your skill set right now? Don’t count on anything related to government because the contractors will also be very cautious right now. If you do not have another guaranteed stream of income right now, follow your own personal job plan as if this offer was not on the table. Quit when you have your personal situation lined up. |
My DH is in the process of lining up a private sector job, and we are fortunate enough to have quite a bit of cash saved up such that we could live for a few months with no income coming in. So it’s just a matter of whether this agreement is somehow even worse than a normal resignation. With a normal resignation, I’d know that I have a month of health insurance, for example. With this agreement, could the health insurance end by March 6th, or maybe there’s no health insurance at all? |
My exact thoughts. Resigning anyways and I am also probationary. Tempted to fork, but wondering if I can hurt myself somehow by doing it. Don’t care if I don’t get paid at the end, I am leaving anyways. |
If unions stop this they will just move forward to the next phase. Mass firing. You dummies. |
What mtg is that? |
