MLSN tier 2

I will bet a free ride to the airport that there is no MLS NEXT 2 schedule for fall 2025.

We have them from our club thru MLS Cup event in Nashville.

Every date and opponent.

How I envy you, I'm not sure if its the league or the the club that's dragging their feet now!

It will be better than ECNL.

I’m seeing a bunch of ECNL kids at MLSN2 tryouts.

Kids cut from ECNL are trying out for MLSN2 and ECRL. What’s the big deal with that? That happens every. single . year…

Nobody is picking MLSN2 over ECNL. But people may pick MLSN2 over ECRL depending on what club is near their house.

We did, two years in a row. Rejected ECNL offers to take NAL and now MLS Next 2.

Proximity for training matters. Friends matter. Number of kids on the roster matters. Your kid's happiness matters. And even if soccer is your kid's #1 priority, they may still want time for other stuff.

Well said!

NAL bit off more than they can chew.

It will break down into 2 groups:

1. If they were running a NAL league in the region then they might be able to geta MLS NEXT 2 league running in the fall:

  • New England

  • Northeast

  • Mid-Atlantic

  • Florida

  • Southeast

  • Mid-America North

  • Mid-America South

  • If they did not have NAL league or MLS NEXT 2 pilot in the region then they are giving up on trying to get a league running

it happens that sometimes a kid just has a goos tryout and coaches get fooled

    Really?
My kid made an MLS next two team and plays EDP 1 in a top ranked team. His offers were for ECRL with an agreement to play sometimes for ECNL - or MLS next 2. He chose the MLSNext track for a variety of reasons and we support him!

    Wanted to add: all
Of the kids were coming from ECNL, edp1, or NAL.

Yet another money grab. This one though with more legitimacy since it bears the brand MLS on it so it’s easy to convince parents to pay up!

    +1.

Have you guys seen The prices at all the clubs??? It’s ALL a money grab! You’re paying everywhere! Unless it’s MSI or Sam or basic rec you’re paying. My kid is PSYCHED about making the MLS next 2 team, he’s played top EDP for his age and age up and he’s ready to try something different. Seriously it’s not about a badge or a name or an alphabet soup, it’s about finding the right CULTURE and community, a schedule for practices and for games that you can stand as a family, and a coach that you like that connects with your kid. If one of those three is missing it will be hard. It’s not about the name; people honestly get really mad and blame the name because their kid couldn’t make it in or they were too intimidated by it. The truth is, it’s just another team and the price is right around the same as all the other prices. We moved because those components – practices, prices, Coach and community Feel – all aligned for us. If it’s not a good experience, we will leave.

Our coach told us that the MLS New Tier league will not launch in 2025.

Teams will be branded as "MLS NEXT New Tier" but will play in existing leagues for the upcoming season - NAL/NPL etc.

Does this mean the same teams will be group together for next year?

It could be a low key fall 2025 and pick up the league play in 2026.

Some on this board claim to have seen a schedule so they could chime in to refute.

Yeah I have all my sons games for MLSN2 in the playmetrics. There are plenty of games in 2025.

I count 12 league games in 2025 not counting Regional events or Talent ID Or MLS fest..

Actuly more of the games are in 25 than in 26.

Regional event in October and Talent ID event in November

    MLS Next fest in December.
