Jill is wearing blue…like a Dem should. Melania is in black and Usha is in pink. Melania’s black era should be a wild ride. Can’t wait until next Christmas when she fills the WH with black trees. |
Melania might be wearing a very dark navy blue. It’s hard to tell if it’s dark blue or black. |
Melania's coat looks dark blue to me.
I like Oosha's coat. There is no rule stating you must dress the color of your spouse's party affiliation. |
I think she looks great in all the pictures here. Even the super tight strapless. |
Her pink coat today. I agree with others that her coats do not look tailored and look oversized. Compare to Melania's coat which is clearly impeccably tailored (though also made of a thinner fabric so easier to get a fitted look). I think the pink color is flattering and appropriate and I like the earrings. However they are also oversized and her gloves also look oversized, and then the boots are heavy and wide. The attached scarf looks messy in the way is knotted -- that's how you knot/fold a scarf to walk to the metro on your way to work. It makes the whole thing look like it's hanging off her -- it's wearing her instead of her wearing it.

Oh I also wanted to add that there is also no relationship between his outfit and hers. It's not required but I like it when some thought is given to this because they will be photographed together all day and it is the best opportunity for them to convey a sense of their collective personality and the image they intend to project in these roles. They look young, mismatched, and thrown together. I think they could have tried harder. |
It looks like something that she bought and planned partly for warmth and standing outside in cold temperatures. I think she bought it when the inauguration was still planned for outside. The plans were changed very last minute. Personally I like it. |
DP. Criticizing the way people convert the information doesn't make the fit any better. They are talking about the shoulder for and the overall fit. Football players have shoulder pads that extend past the natural shoulder, and that is what the fabric of her coat shoulders does. Not to the same extent, but it is notable. Overall, the cost is too big, and it sags and flops in places that is not designed to. Would this matter if she were stopping by Safeway, or going to pick up kids at soccer practice? Not as a regular person. It's fine. But she's now representing the country at State affairs, and respect for the role and the people would make trying to put your best for forward s priority. Especially since nobody is expecting hand cream hair couture -- just some basic tailoring that you could get in any city. Carp about the language all you want, but as a representative of the country at a formal affair, it's still disrespectful, and it makes her into even more of a joke. |
**"the shoulder fit |
I like her coat and how she looks today. |
**and "hand sewn" not "hand cream"
Going to go have words with my autocorrect. |
If you are going to take this all so seriously that you are going to prattle on in a silly contradictory manner, I am going to tease you too. No one thought she was wearing shoulder pads. A number of posters didn’t even notice that the coats shoulders were passed hers. The sizing of her coat is not “disrespectful.” If you do, then you are the one with issues. |
Usha and Melanie are both very pretty women! Any typical DC woman would love to have either of their looks. Be real! |
Usha is not a pretty woman, she has good height, decent features and a fit body BUT her gray hair, under eyes circles age her a lot and she wants to wear these as a badge of honor so it’s fair that we criticize how we want. |
Ha! Frumpy??? you mean like her husband's boss? |
