Why do uneducated white women support Trump?

Anonymous
The fact you call people “uneducated” who didn’t attend college shows you exactly why Trump won.

I am grad school educated woman who voted for Harris but warned people Trump would most likely win but everyone dismissed me.

I get outside of the east coast bubble and understand how people feel they are viewed by the “elite.” Stop thinking you’re better than someone or more educated because you attended an expensive liberal progressive university.

Uneducated doesn’t mean stupid, it means they didn’t have the financial resources to attend college, or they didn’t want to go to college. Lots and lots of very smart people don’t have a college degree.

You are either going to continue to judge and disparage these people, or connect with them and earn their vote. Your choice.

Anyone under the age of 50 had options for college if they were smart. Yes it might be a couple years of cc, and then on to state college, but Pell grants etc make it viable for most people. Why would they not want to go to college?

Because - wait for it - they have different priorities? Crazy, right? In addition, plenty of college-educated women DID support him, but do continue to use "uneducated women" as your scapegoat.

For college educated white women it was 57% for Harris and the rest were Trump or other candidates.

So 43% of college educated white women did vote for Trump. That’s a rather sizable portion of this demographic.

I own a social media agency, and a couple years back I was researching some brands for market research for a client, a couple of which were parenting brands. While I was digging around, I found they had ties to extreme right wing organizations. And they market to parents, especially moms, by instilling fear that bad things will happen to their kids.

So they start with fairly benign parenting things, but over time get sucked in and next thing you know, there are books bans and everyone is homeschooling because schools are “indoctrination”. Moms go extreme far right because of the anxiety over their children. There’s a reason Trump focuses on trans - convince everyone their kids are going to be brainwashed into mutilating their genitals, and you’re gold.

It was pretty shocking for me to see this. The far right has gotten EXTREMELY good at marketing. There are several pipelines in place, including parenting, health/nutrition (why do you think so many of them sell supplements and Andrew Huberman is on the right wing podcast circuit?), crypto, dating/marriage, holistic/natural, etc. Many of which are female-focused.

And Fox News is one of the most brilliant marketers out there. Even the colors and sound effects they use are designed to put people into a state of fight or flight so they purchase from ads.

And there’s no left wing parenting pipeline?

This incredibly condescending attitude is why America just gave you a middle finger.

The voted for the candidate that they best felt would represent their interests, needs, wants, vision, etc etc etc. what was best for them…..

Me, me, me, me, me….My, my, my, my….

I voted for Kamala, even though I’m a 1%er and Republicans are always better for me financially. I’m just not a selfish a$&hole who only cares about her self-interest. Besides, when our planet, infrastructure and foreign relations deteriorate, as they tend to do during Republican leadership, the quality of life for all of us goes down dramatically, rich or poor.

Being a good person who doesn’t vote for offensive felons and sexual abusers and who cares for the less fortunate was more important to me than worrying about the minuscule chance that my daughter might one day face a transgender athlete on the other team. Besides, my daughter is crazy fast, plays with boys all the time and would be able to keep up anyway.

You may be the 1% but your still an idiot.

And I say that as a woman with a graduate degree who has an undergrad in sociology. The “educated” fail to see that they have all been influenced by the same four year liberal indoctrination camps. An environment that defies common sense to such a degree that voicing the belief that there are real differences between biological men and women is deeply unpopular.

Everyone else who does not reside in this bubble (and even plenty of those that do) realize the lunacy of these ideas that the “educated” have embraced.

This is so clueless. Do you really not realize that close to half of women are pro-life? And even among those who wear the pro-choice label, MANY have deep moral reservations about abortion that is shown in polling that delves deeper into how people really feel about it and not simply whether it should be legal.

I honestly think that one of the biggest miscalculations the left has made is thinking that women are so gung ho about abortion that they would show up in droves to defend it. The majority of people - women and men, find abortion to be morally problematic.

Maybe women are smart enough to know abortion is a state issue now.

Their husbands tell how to vote and they obey their red neck domestic abusers rather than get another black eye.

I am a grad school educated woman who voted for Trump this time. The people I went to school with think I should be cancelled. I haven’t even explicitly stated who I voted for but they assume because I’m not depressed this week and I won’t join the online pity parties.

They are smart enough to understand that you can stand at the state border and be a vicious cold-blooded baby killer and then you step across the border and you are not.

What makes you think these women aren’t telling their husbands how to vote? The liberal women withhold sex, right? Or is coercing for Harris ok?
