This. 100% this. I don’t know what is wrong with Britney but the system failed her (like so many other people) The suggestion that she has a right to basically fall apart is such BS. At the time the court issued their opinion to end the conservatorship she was still under it, so she could appear somewhat sane. Now she is a complete mess and surrounded by people who only want to take advantage of her. But for the fame and fortune she would likely be homeless and on the streets if not dead. She is 41, nothing about her says 41. |
I was a Free Britney proponent. I think I was wrong. This is so sad. |
Britney claimed that she was a ghost writer for at least 20 songs over the past two years. Can that be true? That would certainly be helping her financial situation. |
I would think more that someone in the music industry is helping her out by giving her song writing credits on songs. Maybe they have her read over the lyrics and make a suggestion etc. Then she will get residuals from that music and feel like she is doing something. Just like the song Elton John released with her. People can be quite productive and creative when hypomanic but she seems too disorganized to put actual songs together. |
She says her lawyer is like a father to her...maybe because he has taken 4 million from her in 3 years...? |
People prefer the storyline that Britney was kidnapped by her family to make money for them over the storyline that Britney became mentally ill in her 20s. People wanted a fun little soap opera where the main character lives happily ever after and the villains pay, not a sad depressing drama with an unsexy resolution. But it was always a sad depressing drama bc mental illness sucks for everyone. |
I don't think Britney's family was evil at all or meant to harm her. However I also don't think they are all that smart or knowledgeable and have a lot of their own issues. They are a pretty dysfunctional family with lots of mental illness, substance use, traumas, and other dysfunctions.
Definitely not capable themselves of managing her or her affairs. I just don't think they had the skills. I don't think they were scheming thieves. By all accounts Britney had a lot more money and was healthier at the end of the conservatorship than at the beginning. |
This is interesting if true. I went back through her IG and this is around the time (very late 2019) she started appearing a bit “off” - vacant eyes, sloppier appearance, nervously swaying back and forth. I believe this is what fueled the FreeBritney campaign - fans were concerned about her decline and believed the conservatorship was harming her. Still, she looked to be in much better shape than she is now and perhaps she could have stabilized again under the conservatorship. |
It's well known that many celebrities stop maturing at the age they reach stardom. Couple that with Britney's family of mental health issues, substance abuse and trauma and it's a recipe for disaster. |
I was always Team Conservatorship. She was allowed to be "engaged" but clearly they were right she has no business getting married again. She went on vacations with her sons. She was singing and dancing professionally and lucratively. It's a shame she has to be sacrificed for freedumb and in the meantime, those EMT's were spending their time escorting her out of an expensive hotel. Who is going to stop her from getting assaulted by her current boyfriend, her lawyer? BFR people. |
Exactly. Unlike, PP, I believe her father was an awful person who took advantage of her. She should have a lot more money. |
No... that's not what is meant by ghost writing. Brit claimed she herself wrote a total of 20 songs for other artists, under a completely different name. |
Another thing is that she doesn't have a private jet, she leases one at 500k a pop. That alone drains funds fast. She never learned how to budget/manage $. |
Her family didn’t take care of her either. They treated her like their ATM and made her do work she didn’t want to do to keep the money coming. Her dad didn’t just control her money, he controlled her art and her hairstyle. That’s not love. That’s control. He’s an abusive alcoholic with his own restraining order and can’t see his grandchildren. Why some posters constantly defend him as having pure intentions as if they know him is inexplicable. |
No, he wasn’t always in Louisiana. He used her home office to “manage” her where he told her “I’m Britney Spears now”, he hung time with her children out as a carrot for working hard, controlled what she ate and who she talked to. Her illness is obvious but her father controlled her like a mean zoo animal and that’s not love. |
