My kid got into MHC and Smith--big merit scholarship from MHC, small need-based (?) from Smith. She's probably going to end up at W&M out of state, but honestly MHC would cost less. |
I am so sorry for your child. |
Congrats! my DC was deciding between those 2 as well a few years ago, picked Stanford and absolutely LOVES it there. Went sight unseen - no in person admit days (Covid) and had never visited. |

Sure you did. |
Someones bitter... where did your kids get into? Congrats PP! |
Congratulations! We have very similiar results and kid is also headed to UF! However, our rejection was Carnegie Mellon (did not apply to Ivies). |
As a Tarheel who became a Blue Devil for grad school....go Wolfpack from me too! NC State is a terrific school. |
I’m (I guess) one of the few onboard NCSU alum….so I’ll take it! Thanks! The Triangle universities are truly phenomenal. NC residents have no idea how fortunate they are. Congrats to all who got into any of them!! |
I do not understand your response. I am this poster. My DC is one who is going to a school like Hood - similar acceptance/graduation rate. Just saying that the above average students are going to those schools the PP mentioned. I was making the point that students like mine who are average are not getting into schools like Ohio State, Indiana or Wisconsin. |
NP. I noticed you only bolded Hood… you know that’s a college’s name, right? On par with UMW and Towson… hence Hood, not ‘hood? |
Ha, ha. Oh my, now I see why that poster was making the "rude" comment. She must not know about Hood. |
