You’re the ones who are already preferring to assign blame to voters Biden failed than actually doing the work of governance to earn their votes. This has got to be the biggest display of laziness and entitlement I’ve seen even from Democrats. |
…not within your definition of “currently running for president” no. As a piece of rhetorical argument this has truly been an embarrassment. |
Dude, take it to another thread. This was an ask about who the mythical unicorn candidate is who will come in a clean Trumps clock. 10 pages and none. Whitmer comes in first with 2-3 votes. Congratulations. |
NP. If there’s no magical unicorn candidate, then the attention needs to be greater and the debate needs to be more vigorous+rigorous. Pretty sure the lazy rhetoric of the Biden boosters is the opposite of that. |
What’s your basis for saying that Black women don’t benefit from support of the UAW and unions generally? I think you’re operating on old stereotypes. Lots of women work in manufacturing now. Unionized jobs are 40% black — black workers are more likely than white workers to be represented by a union at this point. And you know who else benefited from this administrations more labor friendly policies? Lots of nurses, nursing home workers, bakery workers, etc. etc. Anyway most of this doesn’t matter because unless you live in one of about 6 states, it really doesn’t matter. Write your friends in Pernsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. |
The crappy attitudes are unavoidable, it seems. |
https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/07/business/black-workers-auto-industry-uaw-strike/index.html 25% or so. And Biden is not at all for “all labor”. Where is he when Amazon warehouses and Starbucks stores try to unionize? Didn’t notice him on those picket lines, did I miss the article?? |
I didn’t think you quite understand the threat of Trump. We can have a vigorous + rigorous debate when we aren’t staring down the barrel of authoritarianism. I’m guessing you’re of a certain race & class who will not be impacted by a Trump win. Many of us don’t have that luxury. |
Oh here it is in the NYT: Biden Appears to Show Support for Amazon Workers Who Voted to Unionize “By the way, Amazon, here we come. Watch,” the president said. But the White House quickly said his remarks did not mean the government would get formally involved. Meanwhile when it’s the UAW, there’s Joe out there with a megaphone and the headline is: Biden urges striking auto workers to ‘stick with it’ in picket line visit unparalleled in history |
If you’re imperiled by a Trump Presidency don’t you have even more incentive to keep the Biden coalition together? So why not work to deliver for that coalition rather than scold people. Do you really think that’s changing minds? |
I will say if Biden loses there will be plenty of people on DCUM explaining that they TOLD you he should have taken the youth vote seriously and they TOLD you he shouldn’t take women for granted.
And your counter-argument will be “but I yelled at them!” |
Ad hominem to hide your lack of reality. I’m more convinced than ever that the Democrats are problematic and that they deserve substantial blame for most of serious problems, including our growing authoritarianism and Trump. Why don’t you all try learning from your mistakes and those of the Democrats you support? |
Ok putting everything aside, this great nation of 330 million people has two candidates… Mr.Senile and Mr. Deranged. Like does that not make you guys want to weep? This is just so tragic and I’m worried sick about the future of my children. This is all the country has to offer?! |
This happened when Trump won in 2016, I was the person who was most aggressive in telling people here that. FWIW, I had been in DC for decades then and knew many senior people in both parties and a handful of big-time political consultants. It’s clear the top of the Democratic Party and its loyalists think their stuff doesn’t smell! |
What does Biden need yo deliver to win your vote? Be specific and realistic given that GOP run the House. |
