Yep. And these same kids are going around asking what iphone other kids have and what kind of leggings they wear. Just wait to the teen years OP, it only gets worse. And the same defensive parents will be defending all the money they waste on their kids then too. |
I think the "all or nothing" approach of some commenters is intellectually lazy and selfish - i.e., why should I make any effort at all to be less wasteful when OTHER people are not being as sustainable as they possibly could be? - but I also think that judging individuals on their choices, especially without knowing all of their circumstances, is not really fair or beneficial to anyone.
It's possible those ladies are as terrible as they seem, and it's possible they're nice people who bought a car that works for their family. |
meh we drive an SUV and a Tesla. they sort of cancel each other out and plan to get a 2nd tesla soon anyway. the suv is nice for room and space and it makes sense if you need to cart stuff around. I also don't eat meat so there's that too |
It's almost like the people who buy huge houses in the burbs don't care about their carbon footprint |
Kids are better off without iPhones and social media. Without them, kids might have to actually, you know, talk with each other? As it is now, the moment any kid-conversation pauses, the phones come out. And the conversation is over. Phones and social lead to shorter and shorter attention spans. Not a good thing! |
Because we want to own a home instead of paying the landlord's rent. I can't give my kids an apartment. |
Replace "kids" with "adults" and all those statements are still true. So, I assume you will be getting rid of your smartphone |
Ah ha! Your residence destroyed green space. But gosh those SUV moms right |
It's cute how you think I meant anything other than "IT'S SAFER FOR ME" |
we are aware. |
Yeah until your kid gets hit walking to school.... ![]() Oh wait that's only for the poors right? |
I'm sure everyone other than me buys a car thinking "geez, how would a pedestrian feel if my new car hit him/her." What a stupid premise. What I do care about is that if another huge SUV/Truck hits my car on the highway. I'd rather be protected. And so would you, but apparently, you're too much of a troll to admit it. |
I drive my kid to school in my huge SUV ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Absolutely. I was raised to have to accept that I wasn't getting all the status symbols and make your peace with it. And i raise mine the same. I think this just goes though the generations. You are kinda born on team lululemon in the SUV is important or on team sorry no its not. |
Some have large families and need a large SUV to accommodate the family.
I wish that I had one as I need extra space to transport family & several family dogs. |
