Perfect response from one of the many Ivy-obsessed posters on there. They are incredulous that anyone would make a choice other than the one they would. While to many it's easy decision, They are not star-struck by the Ivy image. They read about the required conformity of opinion on these Ivy campuses. As one parent whose DC chose ND over an Ivy told me, "We were not interested in sending her/him to a place where our family values were under constant attack" This is buttressed by the exposure of the adults to the Ivy grads they meet, who tell you where they went to college in the first five minutes of any conversation. |

Don’t have girls but Visi’s campus is really, really nice - and convenient! |
Did they vote for Trump? Conservatives tend to be anti Ivy imo as they don’t want their kids to learn how backwards their pro Trump or just right wing views are. |
St. Anselms is the most academic prestigious Gonzaga St. John’s |
It is backward of you to assume all Catholics are Republicans and that all Catholic Republicans are Trumpers. Half are Republican. Very few of that half are Trumpers. Trump stands for nothing that is a Catholic value. |
Convenient to what? If you live in Georgetown maybe. If not, then good luck. Also, while the exterior looks nice. Many interiors haven’t been updated in decades. |
This is correct for the boys but unfair to the girls. |
Which building is not updated? When were you last on campus? |
Ew! |
Yep. |
Prep (Boys), Visi (Grils), Heights (Boys), Holy Child (girls) |
This is a very good take. |
When this thread started in 2022, it was pointed out that it is in bad taste. That hasn't changed. |
