ISO - great lasagna for a party of 20 people

Anonymous
Hi all. We're having a small (20) get-together for our son's 1st bday and I'd like to serve lasagna. No time to make it this week...we live in DC. Can any one recommend somewhere we can buy a tray of really good lasagna? I'm willing to order from a restaurant or buy premade (think Costco, etc.) if someone can tell me it's good! Thank you for your help.

Maggiano's!

Stouffers (probably available at Costco, or available at Giant/Safeway) is pretty good! You can pick it up early since it's frozen and just stick it in your freezer until party day.

Thanks for the ideas PPs.

Vace in Cleveland Park sells both meat and vegetarian frozen lasagnas. Haven't tried it, though. The freezer section is small, so I would call ahead to make sure they have what you want.

Vace's lasagnas are amazing - I esp like the spinach one, but my DH loves the meat one, too. They don't look huge, but they are really thick/high so they feed a lot more than you'd expect. They also have really good frozen meatballs and fresh pastas. And fresh mozerella cheese for an app! I love Vace!

Thanks, PPs! I forgot about Vace....adore their pizza and have noticed that they have lasagna but wouldn't have thought of it had you not brought it up. Thank you!

I hate you, OP. Now I'm craving lasagne.

Costco lasagna IS good. It's delicious. It's not low fat though. Full fat mozzerella and ricotta from what I can tell. I was at a friends for dinner and had delicious lasagna. I asked her for her recipe and she confided that it was from Costco. I've only ever bought one myself b/c it's just too much food for my small family, and it's WAY too much fat for us. But trust me, it's good.

Cosco lasagnas ARE good - thanks for the reminder! When we lived on Cap Hill I used to do a lot of meals on wheels for new moms, and I frequently made these and just added salad bread and dessert. I am so glad to be reminded of them! We live further from Costco now, but I think I need to make a run over there...

Maggiano's, hands down.
I've tried Vace and love it but Maggiano's is in a class of its own. A friend with a few restaurants also loves it!

Second Vace. And remember that lasangna take a long time to cook from frozen. I forget the exact time, but it may be close to two hours.
