To the white Jeep exiting Chevy Chase Country Club this afternoon:
Nothing says "the rules don't apply to me" quite like loading up the kids, rolling out of the country club, and then casually driving over the median on Connecticut Avenue so you didn't have to wait for a legal left turn. A+ parenting moment. I'm sure the lesson landed somewhere between "always follow the rules" and "traffic laws are for the poors." The best part was doing it in broad daylight, in full view of everyone, with your children in the car. Why model patience and civic responsibility when you can demonstrate entitlement and reckless driving instead? Connecticut Avenue isn't your private driveway, chief. Peak Chevy moment. |
| Whoa..and you know that driver is going to read your post? |
| That’s the fun of driving a jeep. Jealous? |
I doubt it was a wrangler. Those are fun but not wise to put kids in. And would look weird in white. |
| it makes sense, they should make a special stop light for the country club in that it stops all traffic like when a fire truck is entering from a fire house. Remember these people pay your taxes. |
| Grand Cherokee or Wagoneer? |
| Get over yourself OP |
| I used to have a friend in high school who did this with her red jeep so she wouldn't have to wait in the school line at the end of the day. Now she's a Managing Partner at a Big Three. Real American Psycho stuff. |
Jealous of lawbreakers? Not at all. |
Oh I am not OP but can guarantee that the driver of this jeep is also a big law partner. |
| Maybe they didn't see the median. |
|
I can guarantee that if they read your post, they will revel in your outrage, OP. It's part of the fun, when the laws don't apply to you, that the peasantry gets an eyeful and feels put upon. |
| What does posting on this site do? Does OP know that driver reads this forum/site? |

While I don't condone the driver's alleged actions, to claim that this is more emblematic of wealthy white people is simply, hilarious.
How clueless can one be? |
