| Mom and 19 year old son heading to NYC in a few weeks. Which Broadway show should we see? Son would probably prefer something comedic. (We've already seen Hamilton and The Lion King.) |
| Oh Mary? Operation Mincemeat? |

The play that goes wrong - if it's playing on Broadway.
Saw it in London with my son who was around 10 or 12 and he thought it was so hilarious that we saw it again a couple of years later. |
| Operation mincemeat, maybe happy ending, buena vista social club. |
| Not a comedy but Ragtime at Lincoln Center. The current cast is phenomenal. |

Operation Mincemeat is fantastic! Highly recommend.
The Play That Goes Wrong is off-Broadway and it is also great. |
| I don’t know if these shows are still on Broadway but my teen boys like MJ the Musical, Six, and Bettlejuice. |
| Nothing is funnier than the Book of Mormon, if you can handle that. |

Lots of great options. What's your kind of musical?
If he's into history or Monty Python comedy, Operation Mincemeat, no question. Two Strangers Carry a Cake is pretty funny as well. That's more rom com type humor Those are both tiny cast musicals (5 in Mincemeat and 2 in Two Strangers). For campy funny with a bigger spectacle there is Death Becomes Her, though that one is closing very soon, maybe before your visit. Book of Mormon is more shock humor (like look that one up before you pick it) but does have some large dance numbers. If he likes really raunchy humor, that might be for him. Titanique is a comedy parody of the Titanic movie. Probably not his kind of humor? Schmigadoon is golden age musical parody. If he really likes old musicals, it would fit. Those are the comedy ones, I think? |

I'm one of the Mormons who still doesn't understand how normal people think it's OK to support mocking someone's religion for fun. But knock yourselves out. |
| Operation mincemeat! It’s funny and wonderful. It’s about a specific moment in WW2. It’s not touring yet. It’s not a love story. Highly recommend!! |
| Another vote for Operation Mincemeat. It is SO good! |
| Oh, Mary! is really fun. Plus they have a 5 pm show so you can have a casual dinner afterward rather than rush to make it to the show. |
| Stranger Things? Not a musical, but my 15yr DS loved it. |
