Brooks Brothers outlet?

Anonymous
DS21 needs clothes for his internship at a top consulting firm this summer starting in 3 weeks.

There's a Brooks Brothers outlet about 30 minutes out of the way on the drive home from his university--would it be worth the detour to shop for dress shirts and pants?

He's over 6' and has a very athletic build so he will probably need alterations wherever we shop.

Does he know anyone at the firm he can chat with about this re norms? It’s pretty firm (and even specific office) and client dependent eg a Deloitte analyst on a fed project is going to have different work wear norms than McKinsey consulting for Goldman Sachs on site.

Broadly though I’d look at places like Bonobas - I also showed up at my top consulting job back in the 2010s in brooks brothers and was wayyy out of place in terms of style for my peer group + managers.

Thanks--I think he needs to get a few basic dress shirts in any case and has had a hard time finding anything that fits at stores where he is. Will check out Bonobos, it looks like they have a couple of locations in his internship city.

We bought DS a nice suit from the BB outlet a couple of years ago. He still wears it.

Another good one if he wants to go affordable custom for the right fit is Alton Lane. They have a location in DuPont right near the metro and do custom dress shirts for about the same price as Brooks Brothers (or did a couple of years ago when we went).
