Any ideas for a mattress that sleeps like the ones in Europe?

Anonymous
I'm in the market for a new mattress and loved the ones I slept on in Europe - they were like very upgraded versions of a "futon" mattress. Not springy or squishy but not super hard and uncomfortable. Any DC area advice? My budget is 4K and less for a queen. (So no recommendations like Hastens at the Galleria, please!)

Why not get a sleep number and adjust the firmness to something you like? I grew up in Europe and honestly don't know what you mean.

Same here. Or just go to Naturepedic. Got a mattress for my child and when the time comes to replace ours, I will shop there. They have periodic sales with 20% off.

Most mattresses in Europe are memory foam or latex foam. I lover Amerisleep A3.

Ikea. We bought an ikea mattress and two duvets for our bed after spending a summer in Sweden several years ago and have been so happy. I genuinely don't understand higher priced mattresses at this point.

This.

And by the way, hotel mattresses in E/SE Asia often are similar.
