I thought this might be a fun thread.
My saves: I do my own mani/pedis and hair color Splurge: good haircuts, lower blepharoplasty |
|
Saves: at home nails, at home hair color, at home peels
Splurge: jewelry. I get real gold and keep it for my daughter. It’s pretty much my only splurge! |
|
Saves: I hate nail polish and manicures. I keep my nails short and neat but no manis or pedis. I have fine hair so I prefer drugstore shampoos and conditioner. I thrift most of my clothes… I spend Pennies on the dollar for higher end labels, natural fibers only.
Splurge: regular highlights and frequent trims, and I treat myself to nicer skincare and makeup from clean, low tox brands…love credo! |
|
Saves: Vanicream cleanser and moisturizer for my family. I might switch over, too, but I'm still using stuff up. Rare manicures and pedicures.
Splurges: Garden of Life vitamins. Pilates reformer classes. Botox. Professional teeth whitening (will schedule soon). Redken All Soft conditioner. |
|
Saves: Drugstore brands for cleanser/moisturizer/sunscreen (Cerave, Vanicream, unscented Dove soap for my sensitive skin), mostly drugstore makeup (mascara, brow gel, tinted moisturizer), Tresemme shampoo/conditioner/hairspray, relatively affordable gym membership ($40/month, and I have access to all the classes offered there).
Splurges: Monthly haircut/color, Botox 3-4x/year, monthly manicure/pedicure. |
|
Saves: at home hair color,+ cut, buy most clothes through Poshmark (work) or thrift (home), inexpensive makeup, with one exception
Splurges: regular gel manicures + occasional pedicures, unlimited solidcore membership, not inexpensive lip balms/lipstick |
| I splurge on haircuts and styling products. Everything else is drugstore. Took a long time, to find a good balance and products that I'm happy with! |
| My only splurges are tirzepatide and investing in a Shark hair wrap. I color hair at home, use drugstore makeup, and don't use expensive skincare, but I do use all my products every single day with a good routine. |
|
The splurge is semaglutide and botox. Everything else is a DIY.
My favorite cheap thing is tretinoin |
|
Save: Most body products except for body wash, haircut once a year (keratin below keeps it basically damage free), Target or similar for most clothes
Splurge: Keratin, builder gel nails every 4 weeks, Botox but I can stretch it to once a year because my metabolism sucks |
Which drugstore shampoos do you like? |
|
Save: at home chemical peels
Splurge: lasers like Halo, Moxi, BBL Hero |
|
Saves-
-Inexpensive skincare (Vanicream, tretinoin, Trader Joe's sunscreen). I also use Trader Joe's body lotion. -At home manicures with UV gel nail strips. I can get 2 or 3 manicures out of a pack. -Natural hair color (I'm 41 with no gray yet) -Do my own eyebrows -At home IPL for legs/bikini/etc -Drugstore shampoo (I use Pantene volumizing for my fine, straight hair). I use no styling products. -Drugstore mascara, eyebrow pencil, eyeliner Splurges- -GLP-1 meds -Upper and lower blepharoplasty -Expensive skin tint and lip products -Invisalign -Botox 2x per year |
|
Saves: Cerave face wash, naturism azelaic acid, Cerave shampoo and conditioner, Neutrogena body sunscreen, ELF lip oils
Splurge: Kiehl's moisturizer and face oil, Lancome facial sunscreen, R&co Centerpiece for hair, MUFE foundation, Victoria Beckham eyeliner |
|
Saves: I have very long hair and color the roots myself at home. I get it cut twice a year.
Do my own nails but pedicure in salon. I don’t wear much makeup and skincare is rather inexpensive. No Botox or fillers. I think it’s too late for that. At home whitening trays. Splurge: Tirz, perhaps a facelift someday soon. |
