Now that the 2026 season is concluding, it is time to move onto 2027.
Who are the 2027 favorites? |
| Yes, let’s get that 26s thread buried as far down to the bottom of the page as possible. |
|
SSSAS will be graduating one of their best groups of Seniors so would make sense if they take a small step back next year and battle with Visi for second place. Is KJ retiring?
Stone Ridge should be odds on favorite. It will be interesting to see if NCS can be competitive with the mid tier AA teams, but they will probably end up in a relegation battle with Bullis. If they can stay up next year they have a strong future pipeline and could eventually be a mid tier AA program. |

Agree. I am as eager as the next guy to move on to 2027, come up with some "way too early" rankings, and leave the last 10 pages of the 2026 thread behind.
I would just respect that there is a game in 2 hours, and although GC is the overwhelming favorite, PVI went 7-1 in conference, won their playoff games, and earned a shot--they still have to play the WCAC Championship. We also have VISAA and DCSAA to comment on. Let's keep it to lax analysis and we may be allowed to sustain the thread. |
| Most importantly, NCS is in the AA ISL Division! |
| 13-3 Good Counsel and it wasn't really that close. 4 straight WCAC championship wins. |

| WCAC teams need to work during the summer and recruit. |

My prediction for ISL
1 SR 2 Potomac 3 SSSAS 4 Visi 5 Holy Child 6 Holton 7 NCS 8 Bullis SR will have the largest returning squad in recent history as they are only losing two seniors who played. Potomac is also returning most starters plus reloading with some good 2030s. Saints will be a close 3rd. While they are graduating a ton of seniors they have a deep bench and will likely call upon transfer portal again. Visi is graduating their top player and a few other very good 2026s. Their younger squad didn’t show much threat this year so they will be the weakest in the top 4. |
| SR has some 2030 studs coming in too. Likely they'll sit for 2-3 years. Abundance of riches at SR. |
I've heard that several teams are claiming they'll have a solid group of 2030s, though not all of them can be right. Potomac does have some strong returning players, but I wouldn't rank them second. My top four would be: 1) SR, 2) SSSAS, 3) Visi, 4) Potomac. The rest of the list seems accurate. |
I agree with that. I don't think Potomac should be considered the presumptive #2 if they're relying on "reloading with some good 2030s." That seems overly optimistic. |
My list: 1. SSSAS - got to beat the queen to be the queen 2. SR - have to stop the best scorer in the league 3. Potomac - beat defense in the league 4. NCS - too many great youngsters with nothing to lose 5. Holton - lone the 27 seniors 6. Visi - a little step back street losing the big two 7. Holy Child - still a good team, just too many horses 8. Bullis - no where what to put them |
Probably depending on returning the second most D1 committ 27s and second most returning starters after SR, not freshmen who have never played |
Sorry, for Holton it's "love" not lone the seniors |
