false LinkedIn profile

I was browsing our company's profile and noticed one guy in our team "promoted" himself to a higher position.

Do people normally do this? Can I report this?

Why HR hasn't said anything to him? I found this to be very dishonest...

You forward the screenshot to HR. Or maybe he was promoted but it hasn't been formally announced yet?

Do you really think there are people in HR that are randomly reviewing current employee LI information and validating if it's the same position that they hold in the company HR system?

Who would you like to report this to?

My linkedin profile says I’m head of HR for the LinkedIn Police.

If you were paid what an HR drone is paid, do you think you would go beyond your job description to surveil LinkedIn in case an employee is using an incorrect job title?

You're exceptionally stupid.

How do you know his official title?

At my company we have official HR titles (which are essentially generic categories tied to org charts and salary bands) that pop up in outlook office directories, etc. but staff use public facing titles that resonate in the real world (with the blessing of their supervisor, etc).

Example:

Official hr title in outlook directory = Supervisor 2

Public facing title in signature block =
Deputy Director of Marketing
