Heard someone we know got expelled recently. If this kid doesn’t graduate, what happens to him? Gap year? Public school? Community college?
What gets you expelled 2 months before graduation? |
| Threats, selling drugs, repeated cheating, falsifying college apps to the point the school is questioned, sexual assault |
| Drugs on school grounds will (not saying that is the only case or the case of the student you know, but it was the case for a guy I knew in high school). |
| At our school, the rumor mill said inappropriate bathroom behavior. |
Like assault or smearing poop? |
|
Locker room shenanigans, taking/distributing inappropriate photos/videos
|
| Forgot to answer "what will happen to him". Most likely will grab up his GED and head to college for this to be swept under the rug. Or he may jump to public school to ride it out. Depends on who his parents are and how they decide to handle it. There is an easy GED -> community college -> transfer to a large good but not incredible college track that is easily available. Parents will cross their fingers that the rumor mill forgets in a few years. |
| More than likely the school will let the kid finish work from home and/or receive a diploma. No participation in graduation activities, though, including commencement. Saying racial epithets is another misdeed that might get you expelled pretty quickly, depending on the school and the severity of the misdeed. |
| Public? |
| Fast track to loserdom |
This is in the private school forum, duh. |
| Something major like sexual assault or something smaller for which you were given chance after chance to redeem yourself and you just kept breaking the rules. |

Bringing a gun to school
Anti-semitism graffiti |
| The incident I knew about this year invoked a senior using drugs on school grounds and giving some to an underclassman. |
| Driving a golf cart into the school. |
