| Ok, I may regret this, but now that it's over, what are your thoughts on how Arlington high schools fared this year in the college admissions game? Any surprises? |
| No one has all the data at this point, are you basing your thoughts on what's been posted on Instagram? |
That's what I'm aware of at this point, that and word of mouth from parents at the schools |
What data are you expecting. They don’t publish matriculations, so Instagram is all we will likely get. |
| Who cares |

https://www.instagram.com/yhsdecisions2026/ https://www.instagram.com/wldecisions26_/ https://www.instagram.com/hbwdecisions26/ HBW really stands out, about 20% of class goes to t30 schools, and only HYP admit out of APS I think. |
Well private schools make a big deal of their admitted schools so as far as marketing the value of a school it’s an established metric. I guess maybe no one picks where they live on the quality of the high school? |
The wrong WHS is linked unless we have a lot of kids going to state colleges in CT |
Can some one share WHS insta, I can’t find it. |
A lot of people care about outcomes from our public high schools. I guess you don't but many do, especially here in Arlington where our population is highly educated and hence value education for our offspring too. |

I'm an HB parent, and I'm pretty blown away by these results. This is better than usual. The senior class was unusually strong this year. TJ is even more impressive! I can't tell which kids are from Arlington and wouldn't ID them even if I did know. But still interesting to add t to the mix knowing some of these kids are Arlingtonians too. https://www.instagram.com/tj2026destinations/ |
I have been impressed by the results for all of the APS high schools this year. |
| I do wonder how federal job losses in the area and new limits on student loans are changing where people apply/accept |
I don't know. All five Arlington high schools (including TJ) have impressive stats. They all seem to be going to expensive schools. Private and out of state public schools. Although a very large number of students, as is typical, are going to VPI and UVA. Followed by W&M, JMU, VCU, and other state schools. |
