Looks like WV lost MLS Next for BOTH HG and AD next year. Families were just told this week …after tryouts are over across clubs and offers accepted.
Anyone know why they lost both and didn’t just get demoted? For all the families impacted, what are you going to do? Timing couldn’t be worse. |
and what's the impact to Sterling FC? |
| There was some kind of weird sports venture business running their mls teams. My guess is it wasnt profitable. |
What do you mean demoted? What's below AD? They are demoted to edp or whichever league they choose and honestly they were not strong enough to be in mls next. It waters down the league if teams are in it that are losing 12-1 |
They are in HG this year. I meant that it would make more sense for them to be demoted to AD only then to be entirely kicked out. Their AD teams aren’t doing too bad. |
WV, Frederick and Sterling could not decide how much money each gets so they decided to punish 200+ kids. Typical American developing soccer, nothing to watch here.
|
| So they all go back to having their own teams in edp or ncsl or ehatever |
| Did they tell the families what the reason was? |
| why did they even have it in the first place? |
Is this actually the reason? That would be really messed up if it’s true. |
| We will never know the truth. But everybody knows it is money. Nothing personal kids it is just business. |
|
Sterling advertises hard for the WV MLSN partnership so that's interesting info
|
| How did they ever get MLS next HG in the first place? Were they ever competitive in that league? It seems like giving them a chance in AD would’ve been reasonable. |
| they can't compete. its a total embarrassment |
| Their AD teams were middle of the table. |
