SSFS HOS leaving

SSFS never had a problem with RG’s identity despite his ridiculous Zoom anecdotes about feeling threatened by a 14 year old girl working the summer camp entrance who simply asked for his employee ID. Rodney always used identity politics and victimhood as part of his grift. His approach left no room for criticism as the community feared being bad-mouthed, blacklisted or labeled racist or homophobic. Rodney isn’t some extreme leftist, just another opportunist…Springers will remember when he proudly shared a picture of himself with the Trumps from his time at St Andrew working with Baron. From my perspective, his scam is apolitical and driven by narcissism, a vendetta against private schools, and downright greed. The best way to address this type of corruption is not to get baited into the left/right battle over identity politics. It’s power at play, not politics.

Great post. Hopefully people read it before it gets deleted.

I took a screen shot in case it’s deleted. That is a great summary! When we started at SSFS I was wondering if he left StA bc of political reasons. But by the end of our first year with him, i was wondering how much business scamming he discussed with Baron’s father. I’m glad their are groups examining this further!

Any other current families concerned about next year’s tuition? Last year, they made a big deal of providing the information to families before the end of the calendar year. This year, crickets. We are contemplating leaving for a variety of reasons, some of them financial, and this is making me more anxious (and concerned about continued financial aid availability…)

I’ve been wondering the same. Maybe they don’t want to drop that too early. Or maybe they know they can’t raise it this year and expect anyone to return.

I'm not worried yet.

About tuition or just the school overall?

One of the sharpest posts since this forum opened. This is an important critique! Thankfully RG is gone from SSFS. The recovery efforts at SSFS are obvious and appreciated. Let's keep moving forward and getting better while not forgetting how the damage was caused so that mistakes are not repeated.

Agreed! When the HoS candidates are announced, the BoT and community better read those resumes and references carefully!

Will families have a real opportunity to provide meaningful feedback to the bot on the candidates and have any real dialog on the choices? In the past parents meeting candidates and providing feedback seemed like it was just for show.

Let the hand wringing begin. Chicken Little's, where are you?

DB moving on is not a loss.

It may not be a loss but it may keep families from coming back next year...

Why do you say that it’s not a loss? Literally every vacancy is a loss at this point.

Everyone knew he’d leave. His youngest is graduating. He’s a charlatan. Makes promises he can’t keep, and pretends to have your back, but doesn’t really. Good riddance.

This was going to be a vacancy regardless of any lingering RG drama. He was always going to leave after his youngest graduated.

Most of the MS teachers are terrific. It has nothing to do with DB. He was just a warm body pretending to be a leader and definitely pretending to be progressive when it comes to education.

Well said.
