What happens if we have a snow day in March?

If there is a big March snow storm, would the school year be extended into the following week? June 29 - July 3?

Nope.

Then if the legislature doesn’t save MCPS (which it likely will) they will have to use the April contingency day.

Yeah this happened in the past - they just reduced the days.

A random day this summer will be selected from a hat.

We once had a day off in June for a big thunderstorm/tornados.

At this point, if they don't get bailed out by the legislature, they can reapply to MSDE for a waiver and actually get it. They got denied for not adding enough extra days first, but now they have.

Honestly they probably could have gotten a waiver for the 25th and 26th, but they wanted to piss off parents and teachers to get them to lobby the legislature, so they just added them on. But if the legislation doesn't go through they'll probably get a waiver to end on 6/24.

We enjoy the snow. What else do you want to do?

It's not like anybody's attending the extra days, ha!

Parents everywhere in MoCo will lose their minds. That’s what will happen.

Every kid is forced to repeat the current grade because there is no way they can successfully move on with so much lost instruction
